Arsenal take on FC Porto in their first Champions League Round of 16 tie in seven years, with the first leg in Portugal on Wednesday night.
Ahead of flying out, the club held an open training session with reporters among those in attendance, thus being able to confirm that Partey returned to train with the first team squad.
The Ghana international is yet to play in the Champions League this season for the Gunners and hasn’t featured at all since October in a cameo against Manchester City.
As the pressure builds in the run-in for European and domestic silverware, Partey’s return is a huge boost for Arteta who is taking on the Champions League knock-outs for the first time as a manager.
Fabio Vieira also came back into training, but Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu were absentees.
