0 Ntsako Confidence Mashali (23) was born and raised in Thoma village in Limpopo outside of Giyani.
He started to recognize his talent at the age of 15 after choosing the art subject as his main in school and has shown off his talent at the age of 18.
Mashali wishes to build a school where he will teach the upcoming artists and sponsor them with drawing materials so that they can pursue their career. He believes that his skills will add value to communities because drawing is not easy without materials.
“I have faced many challenges throughout the years and I would be lying if I say it had been an easy way to success, Mashali said.
He also believes that artists face many challenges including clients not paying for their artwork.
“Sometimes people do not pay when I draw their art piece, which has resulted in the loss of drawing materials. I was not getting anything after completing my work, this was the biggest challenge in my experience,” he added.
“I advise the upcoming artists to stand and fight for their future because it is not easy to become an artist if you’re not a hard worker. The first thing that you must do is to build your profile,” Mashali continues to share advice.
“People [will] keep on discouraging you but my advice is that do not give up,” he concluded.
Mashali is currently based in Orlando East.
