0 DURBAN: A firearm used in the brazen assassination of Africa’s icon, Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, has been recovered by police.
According to EWN, sources close to the investigation confirmed that a man in his early 20s, was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Durban.
The firearm used in the brazen shooting of South African hip hop star Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes has been recovered by police. The man has been found in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Umlazi, south of Durban at the weekend.
The firearm was sent for ballistic testing and came back positive as the weapon used to gun down Forbes on the evening of 10 February 2023.
The 35-year-old entertainer and his celebrity friend Tebello Motsoane were gunned down in a suspected hit outside Wish restaurant on Durban’s popular Florida Road.
Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) decision to reinvestigate the death of Anele “Nellie” Tembe. According to a Sunday World report, a new investigation will be opened into the death of the daughter of KwaZulu-Natal businessman Moses Tembe.
The 22-year-old Tembe fell to her death from the 10th floor of Cape Town’s Pepperclub Hotel in the early hours of 11 April 2021.
Following her tragic death, several video clips emerged on social media, with one showing two men trying to calm down Nellie. The video sparked widespread accusations of gender-based violence (GBV) in their relationship, as she could be heard screaming “You don’t know what he’s been doing to me”.
