RIYADH: Ronaldo has scored 727 club goals and 123 for Portugal.
Cristiano Ronaldo reached a monumental milestone when Al-Nassr FC annihilated Al-Hazm 5-1 in the Saudi Professional League (SPL) on Saturday. The prolific Portuguese marksman scored his 850th career goal.
“Another great team performance! We keep improving let’s go Al-Nassr. 850 career goals and still counting,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.
Arguably one of the greatest forwards the football game has ever seen, Ronaldo has scored 727 club goals and 123 for Portugal, which, in itself, is a record for a male player at an international level.
There seems to be no stopping for the 38-year-old, who has scored his 12th goal in all competitions for his club this season. He is the leading goal scorer in the SPL with six goals in four matches.
Since his arrival in the Middle East in 2022 from the English Premier League (EPL), where he played for Manchester United, Ronaldo has scored 26 goals in 30 matches for Al-Nassr. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, whose move to Al-Nassr has led to an exodus of top stars from Europe to Saudi Arabia, is enjoying his football at the moment.
Al-Nassr, who lost their two opening matches, have now bounced back by winning three games on the trot. The win has put Al-Nassr four points away from table-topping Al-Hilal, who have collected 13 points.
While most players of his age have retired from international football, not the former Real Madrid player, who was named in the Portuguese squad that will play the 2024 EURO qualifiers against Luxembourg and Slovakia next week.
Ronaldo’s goals by club and country:
• Sporting Lisbon – 5
• Manchester United – 145
• Real Madrid – 450
• Juventus – 101
• Al-Nassr – 26
• Portugal – 123
