SOWETO: There will be more sub-plots as Kaizer chiefs welcome AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium in a DSTV Premiership clash, Wednesday.
Out of the Nedbank cup, without a win in the league in three matches and in ninth spot on the DSTV Premiership standings, Chiefs woes have been escalated in recent weeks.
Their slow start under Gavin Hunt was well documented but three success of victories in January saw Amakhosi faithful remain optimistic in the league match encounters.
Amakhosi though will take the clash to Usuthu relatively fresh after the CAF Champions League encounter against Wydad Casablanca was postponed, so Hunt will edge his team to fire in all cylinders.
That won’t be easy said than done, as Usuthu they face a team who has found an attacking identity under Benni McCarthy. They may head in an encounter back of a draw with Swallows FC, but AmaZulu’s performances have matched their ambition.
Question marks however still remain, while the form makes the fans stand up and take notice. The KZN giants are yet to overcome the traditional heavyweight, their last defeat in the hand of Amakhosi if McCarthy and his troops are to underline the ambition they have to slay the Soweto giants.
These is the clash between two teams who are indeed of the entire three points in different reasons.
Kick-Off at 15h00pm.
