ERMELO: Houses have been destroyed and people are not able to travel because of the danger of these floods.

There have been heavy rains in the last few days in the Mpumalanga province specifically in Ermelo and Gazana Area. The residents here are devastated and have been stranded for days without any proper assistance.

Houses have been destroyed and people are not able to travel because of the danger of these floods.

Residents say that these floods are caused by the drainage system that is not maintained and lack of infrastructure in these communities.

Unfortunately, they have been houses who have been swept away by these tremendous floods and there has been a rescue team that has been sent to these areas to look for the bodies of these residents.

There has been a family that has not moved from the scene after saying that they will not go anywhere until they are able to retrieve the body of their brother who was last seen around here. They believe that their brother drowned and was swept away by the water.

Residents are begging for proper assistance from the government and they urge the government to help them look for their brother who they believe is not far from the scene.

They have said they went to two mortuaries and also have looked for his body from the people that have been found but they have been unsuccessful.
