JOHANNESBURG: The couple has filed for divorce and Zinhle is said to have a protection order against her husband.

Isibaya Actress Zinhle Mabena was unlawfully arrested last night for attempted murder allegations against her husband Dr Robert Ngwenya.

The arrest was made after Ngwenya’s bodyguard was shot and died shortly after early last month at a petrol station in Centurion.

Zinhle is a free woman now as there was no evidence implicating her on the arrest made. She revealed the news of her release on an Instagram page in a statement issued through her lawyers.

The couple filed for divorce and Zinhle is said to have a protection order against her husband. Ngwenya took to his Instagram page, expressing that he will be releasing a new book titled, “5 Years In Marriage: A Chronicle of Love, Marriage, and Divorce”.

“Zinhle Mabena appeared at the Pretoria magistrate’s court in Tshwane where her case was thrown out and the prosecutor said her arrest was unlawful,” said her legal team.

NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said the court decided that more investigation was needed before Zinhle’s case could be put on the roll.

“The docket was brought to court [and] the matter was not enrolled due to insufficient evidence and [need for] further investigations,” Lumka said.

A video which has been circulated on social media shows what appears to be an assassinating attempt on two men, one appears to be Ngwenya and his bodyguard.
