JOHANNESBURG: Mr Molefe believes there are many things that are not being done right to the country’s State-Owned Enterprises.
Speaking to one of the Power FM 987 Women segment of the station, on Power Perspective with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) treasurer-general and member of parliament Ms Omphile Maotwe, Mr Brian Molefe was unpacking the failure of state-owned entities in the country.
Mr Molefe once warned that the lack of SOE governance in the country is a drain on South Africa’s economy and that, to turn around the economy, South Africa needs to sort out the governance framework for its many state-owned enterprises.

Mr Molefe spoke just after South Africa’s president, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa said he recommended hiring Mr Molefe as CEO of Eskom in 2015, while Mr Ramaphosa was deputy to Mr Jacob Zuma.
When Mr Molefe was asked what he thinks of the current Eskom CEO, Mr Andre de Ruyter’s performance, he said “I’m not impressed”.
