MADRID: The former Birmingham City product is producing the goods in Madrid week in and week out.

Real Madrid’s summer signing Jude Bellingham has risen to the occasion and made a quick adjustment to the life and demands of playing for Los Blancos.

Madrid signed the 20-year-old English midfielder during the summer transfer market from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £88,5 million (about R 2 billion). A fee that now looks like a bargain as the player has lived up to the billing. The former Birmingham City product is producing the goods in Madrid week in and week out.

Jude, who is currently the leading goal scorer in the Spanish La Liga with 10 goals, has scored 13 goals for his new club across competitions. The other three goals he scored in the UEFA Champions League, helping the Galacticos to top Group C by winning three from three.

This past weekend the English international star’s mercurial rise in the white of Madrid lifted the team from possible defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona Football Club, in the El Classico.

The versatile midfielder scored the equaliser and a dramatic winner in injury time in order for Carlo Ancelotti’s men to claim all three points in a 2-1 victory. The win helped Madrid unseat Girona at the top of the table though they both have 28 points Madrid are ahead due to a superior goal difference.

With the form Bellingham he’s in, he has helped fill the void left by Real Madrid great Karim Benzema, who left for the Al Ittihad and plays in the Saudi Professional League, Saudi Arabia. Although they play different positions his goals have ensured that Madrid are competing without Benzema, Marco Asensio Willemsem and the retired Eden Hazard.

With the way things are going, Jude is the best summer signing this year as he seems to be unstoppable and undeniable for Real Madrid, who are on a mission to reclaim the league and the Champions League.
