CAPE TOWN: Mabutho succumbed to death after a short illness in Tuesday early hours, Multichoice Nigeria announced.
Flooded with grief, the leading media and entertainment group has shared the passing of one of its top staff at their Nigeria branch. This comes after Mr Martin Mabutho suffered a short illness in the early hours of Tuesday at his home in Cape Town.
In a statement, Multichoice Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Ugbe said that; “Martin was not just a colleague but a very close friend and most trusted adviser. Everyone loved him for his energy and hard work, good humour, and the positive attitude he always brought to the team. He will be greatly missed,” said Mr Ugbe in the statement.
The South African born Multichoice Nigeria appointee served at the company as Chief Customer Officer (CCO) since 2018. A veteran in the media and entertainment industry with a long-run partnership with Multichoice from 1999, he joined the entertainment group as a Customer Service Supervisor at Multichoice Botswana.
In 2003 he was appointed as MNet Brand Manager, also led the Marketing and Sales for Dstv Mobile in the Sub-Saharan before becoming a General Manager for Multichoice Nigeria in 2013.
The ‘loveable’ 47-year-old is said to have left behind his aged parents, spouse, and four children.
