THOHOYANDOU: The ANC NYTT Coordinator, Ms Joy Maimela and the two Limpopo MECs visit the family of late Lufuno Mavhunga today in the afternoon.
The Limpopo Department of Education MEC, Ms Polly Boshielo together with the Health MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba are part of the latest delegations led by the African National Congress (ANC) National Youth Task Team, (NYTT) set to visit Mbilwi Secondary School and the family to sent their condolences.
The visit comes after a grade 10 learner at the school committed suicide following the bullying incident by her peers. The department said they visited the family of a deceased learner to sent their condolences.
“We once more convey our deepest condolences to the family, friends and the entire school community of the deceased. No amount of words can ever soothe the pain you are going through,” said MEC Boshielo.
Limpopo Department of Education, Tidimalo Chuene said they have visited Mbilwi Secondary school to call the learners in order and check their behavioural performance.
“We will also check the number of reported cases regarding the behavior of the learners at school,” said Chuene.
Meanwhile, the ANC NYTT spokeswoman, Ms Sizophila Mkhize, said they are visiting the family of late Lefhuno Mavhunga to send their condolences.
“The NYTT will be sending condolences to the family of Lufuno and to announce the awareness campaign that will be formed against bullying.
“We will embark from here on an awareness campaign against bullying in schools. The awareness campaign is not yet formed,” said Ms Mkhize.
