JOHANNESBURG: Pictures emerged on social media of Lekgwathi standing in front of his Grootman restaurant.
Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has been left a victim of Soweto looters after his restaurant was completely destroyed on Monday.
Taking to social media, Lekgwathi shared the video of his destroyed and looted restaurant and simply captioned the post; “I leave everything to the Almighty God.”
Pictures emerged on social media of Lekgwathi standing in front of his Grootman restaurant, a victim of the violent looting in the Gauteng province.
Looters have been wreaking havoc in parts of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, looting stores and destroying property.
Dozens of cars were torched over the weekend in Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal and police said close to 500 people have been arrested so far.
‘Grootman’ restaurant was launched earlier this year after Lekgwathi branching into the restaurant business having also started his own foundation as his playing career came to an end.
The former Pirates captain retired as one of the most decorated footballers of his generation and moved into entrepreneurship. He also launched his own clothing brand called ‘Fantastic 14’.
Lekgwathi joined Pirates in 2002 from Ria Stars having captained them to six trophies in 2 seasons 2010/10 and 2011/12.
