JOHANNESBURG: This was after she was politely asked to not park on the marked parking bay put in place for persons in a wheelchair.
The South African Actress and television personality, Ntando Duma (26) was dragged on social media yesterday after an ‘Instagram live’ video surfaced.
In the live video, the mother of a 4-year-old girl is caught having an altercation with an old woman. What caught people’s attention is how Duma poorly handled the situation.
She consistently kept cursing at the old lady, making racist comments like, “what are these white grannies saying to me, I’m gonna clap them, all of them.” This was after she was politely asked to not park on the marked parking bay put in place for persons in a wheelchair.
In this regard, Duma is at fault because she was not supposed to park on the marked parking bay, regardless of any situation as she is entirely not disabled. Her ill-manner of approach in the situation insinuates and denotes how inconsiderate she is towards people with disabilities.
The actress later posted an apology for her actions stating, “…I was instructed to park in there by the food establishment, given that this was a quick pick up which did not require me waiting long or leaving the car.”
At this point, it seems that people still find the apology insincere. A user said, “You were rude to the woman who asked you not to park there and made it about race. You ridiculed those with mental illness. I do not believe the food establishment told you to park in the disabled parking.”
This is what people had to say:
