JOHANNESBURG: A Wits student leader was arrested during a violent protest earlier on Tuesday.
Wits student protestors were involved in another standoff with the police with rubber bullets flying on Wednesday.
A civilian has been shot dead by the police in the current demonstration that is happening in Braamfontein. Wits students started protesting yesterday over the exclusion of other students that owe the university.
Since the protests, students have continued to get arrested and brutalised by police.
Wednesday saw chaotic scenes erupt in the Johannesburg CBD when police fired rubber bullets at students who were protesting over fees and registration issues.
The students at Wits promise that protests will continue. They are disgruntled over the alleged financial exclusion of some students by NSFAS.
