CAPE TOWN: Demonstrators tried to storm the Medicines and MHRA headquarters in central London.
Western Cape police say a case has been opened against 600 ‘anti-vaxxers’ after an illegal maskless protest that took place in Sea Point over the weekend.
In solidarity with the ‘Worldwide Rally for Freedom’ where similar protests took place in different locations around the world, the anti-vaxxers staged the walkabout chanting, “We say no,” and, “We want natural immunity.”
This was the third anti-vax maskless protest in the Mother City since the start of the vaccine rollout programme in the country with many of the belief the vaccine hasn’t been tested and that is an experiment.
According to anti-vaxxers, the Covid-19 pandemic has destroyed the economy and the death rate was only 0.05% with a high recovery without the vaccine.
In the UK, Demonstrators tried to storm the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) headquarters in central London. This comes as an extra 200,000 teens with underlying conditions became eligible for two vaccine doses.
The UK’s vaccine advisory body has refused to give the green light to vaccinating healthy children aged 12-15 years on health grounds alone.
Meanwhile, in South Africa, the government will review its policy of offering COVID-19 vaccines to children in South Africa towards the end of October.
According to Health Minister Joe Phaahla, the country will take a new direction to review the policy relating to vaccinating children over the age of 12.
