TURIN, ITALY: A lengthy statement by the Juventus forward deems heavy transfer links rumours as non-factual and ‘disrespectful to his name’.
The Portuguese, five-time Ballon D’or champion has ‘broken silence’ regarding his future at Turin as he has been heavily linked with clubs as Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG), Manchester City and a possible reunion with Real Madrid. But the Tuesday evening Instagram post says otherwise about his future during this transfer window.
With the potential transfer this summer, media outlets and transfer experts went back and forth theorizing possible moves where Ronaldo might spend his coming season.
In the statement, Ronaldo made it clear that his story at Real Madrid has been written, recorded in words and numbers but did not rubbish speculations of a possible transfer to PSG and City as ‘nobody ever being concerned about trying to find the actual truth’.
“My story at Real Madrid has been written. It’s been recorded. In words and numbers, in titles and in trophies, it’s also in the minds of every fan of the club. I know that the true Real Madrid fans will continue to have me in their minds and I will have them in mine,” said Ronaldo in an Instagram post.
“As well as this most recent episode in Spain, there have been frequent news and stories associating me with a number of different clubs in different leagues with nobody ever being concerned about trying to find the actual truth,” said Ronaldo.
Earlier this week speaking to El Chiringuito the Spanish publication, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti made it clear that there will be no reunion with Cristiano;
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a Real Madrid legend and I really respect him. But I’ve never asked or planned to sign Cristiano this summer. We’re looking forward,” said Ancelotti.
Concluding his statement with a winking Emoji, Ronaldo says he is breaking his silence now to say that he cannot allow people to keep playing around with his name.
The players said he remains focused on his career and work, committed and prepared for all challenges that he faces ‘everything else? Everything else is just talk’.
